Jason Anderson’s Day At Ironman Motocross | MX 2016

Jason Anderson made his return to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series at Ironman Raceway after injuring himself at High Point earlier this summer. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider was also picked for Team USA in the Motocross Of Nations in Italy later this fall. Jason was ready for some door drops and seat time in competition conditions to prepare for his Group USA Debut in Italy. We are going to take you through Jason’s day at Ironman Raceway from the first practice to the last lap of moto 2 .

Jason’s return to the track started on Friday afternoon as the Motocross associated with Nations Team USA press conference was held at the media tent in Ironman Raceway. Jason said they are honored to represent USA on the Motocross of Nations in Italy, he’s ready to put in the work and it is excited to race an off season race since he has spent the previous few months on the coach.

Jason went out in the first timed practice and turned the 2: 34. 434 on his fourth lap of the session for his fast time. This gave Jerrika the 3rd fastest time of the program. The track was still moist from the rain storm Friday early morning and from the rain that took place for the 250 B practice that started the day.

In the 2nd timed 15-minute practice Jason was able to turn a panel of 2: 37. 872 in the 5th lap of the session. This gave Jason the 7th fastest time of the session and the fourth gate pick going into moto one The 2nd practice was much reduced as the track got much deeper plus rutted. Here, you can see that Jason is going through the deep soil in the section before the finish line.

Jason got a mid pack start in moto one but was able to move up to the 8th position after the first lap. Jerrika takes the outside line after the auto technician tents before going over the tunnel leap.

Jason takes off of the big uphill triple from Ironman. The 450’s were able to take the inside line and had no problem eradicating the massive jump. Jason could move his way up to fifth place after the 5th lap.

Jason got simply by Phil Nicoletti on lap 5 for 5th place just before the best triple. Jason was able to hold off Phil and the other riders to stay in 5th place and end the moto with a respectable finish for their first race back.

Jason got a much better begin in moto 2 and was in fifth place after the first lap. Right here, Jason takes the inside rut to the woods section of the Ironman track. Look how much Jason’s suspension is being used around this corner.

Jason was able to get by Phil Nicoletti on the 2nd lap and move up to 4th place. Right here, Jason takes the corner after the quad jump up by the pits.

Jason had a fight with Eli Tomac for a couple laps before Eli was able to get by Jason. Jason went back to 5th location and finished moto 2 in that position.

Jason Anderson came back to racing on which he called the roughest track he has ever ridden. Jason went 5-5 for 5th overall at Ironman and said he could have done better if he was racing all season. He will take the 5th place and believes he did pretty well on this rough track. Jason will know go out to California and concentrate on getting ready for the Motocross of Countries.
